Articles of Faith

The Bible is the inspired Word of God, and our only authority for faith, worship and conduct (II Timothy 3:16; II Peter 1:20-21).

God is the Creator and Redeemer who exists in the person of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit (Genesis 1; Colossians 1:14-17; Hebrews 1:1-4).

Jesus Christ died for our sins, was buried, rose again and ascended into heaven (I Corinthians 15:3-4).

Jesus will come again to receive all believers to Himself (John 14:3; Acts 1:9-11).

The Holy Spirit convicts men of sin, regenerates the believing sinner, indwells, guides, instructs and empowers the believer, through spiritual gifts as He wills, for a life and service that is pleasing to God (John 3:5-8; Acts 1:8; John 14:26; I Corinthians 2; I Corinthians 12:11).

Man was created in the image of God, but he fell into sin, and consequently he incurred both physical and spiritual death which is separation from God (Genesis 1:26, 27; 2:7, 17; 3:6-24; Romans 3:9-23; Ephesians 2:1-3).

Salvation is found in no one else but Jesus Christ, His blood, righteousness and resurrection (Acts 4:12).

The church is a fellowship of all true believers who have been born by the Holy Spirit into the family of God (Hebrews 10:5; I Corinthians 1:2).

Release of Information and Declaration of Intent

I give Wilmot Centre Church permission to contact the persons named as references to check on my suitability for volunteer ministry. I release all such references from liability for any damage that may result from communicating such evaluations to Wilmot Centre Church.

I give Wilmot Centre Church consent to verify the information provided in the application and to contact the references listed. I waive any right to confidentiality and of any right to pursue damages against Wilmot Centre Church for losses caused by the reference’s response.

I also agree to complete and hand in a police records check with a vulnerable sector screen, for purposes of my protection against any false allegations and for the protection of those I serve. I understand that the results of the check will be kept in strict confidence. I agree to adhere to the protection policies as adopted by Wilmot Centre Church.

I understand that as an Approved Team Member I am a representative of the values and mission of Wilmot Centre Church. If my words or behaviour contradict the values and mission of Wilmot Centre Church and/or are criminal, I understand that my volunteer service may be terminated without express cause or prior notice regardless of any other oral or written statement by Wilmot Centre Church prior to, at, or following the date of volunteer service.

I understand that Wilmot Centre Church is responsible for the welfare of any person or persons entrusted to my care. I will cooperate fully with the staff in the fulfillment of my duties and will keep all information I encounter, in my role as a volunteer, confidential. If at any time, I find that for any reason I am unable to support the policies, procedures or doctrine of Wilmot Centre Church, I will resign my volunteer position. If my supervisors find that I am in conflict with any of the policies, procedures or doctrines and we are not able to resolve the issue, I will resign my volunteer position.
